There will be a new Administration and Congress in 2009, which provides unique and important opportunities for the industry.  To meet these opportunities from a position of strength requires tools, one of which is an understanding of the impact of non-profit driven community economic development.  The National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA) is collecting information in the form of a national census to measure the  economic impact of the industry.  This census is available online and requires approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Please click the link below and complete the survey.

NACEDA is collecting this data to inform policymakers about the expanse of the industry.  The data collected will be the foundation for national policy initiatives.  It will provide the critical information necessary to present the case for community development investments and public policy attention.

Your information will illustrate the types of outcomes community development organizations produce including: housing, commercial development, economic opportunity, job creation, human services, and housing counseling.

DEADLINE
The timing of this project is critical.  NACEDA needs your responses to ensure data is available and the report can be completed in time to make an impact on the new Administration and Congress.

Please complete the online survey by November 3, 2008.

IT'S FAST - 45 MINUTES TO COMPLETE!
This information will be used to expand the base of support, reach, and strategy for helping communities, and their residents, with community development needs and problems.

It takes only 45 minutes to complete.

The information collected will provide a stronger base for advocacy.  It is important to tell lawmakers about the impact you are having in local communities.  They need to know that funding programs like the Community Development Block Grant and the HOME Investments Partnership program result in tangible benefits in their districts.

NACEDA is a vehicle for developing and pursuing a national community agenda and works to strengthen and expand the role of state community economic development associations in promoting the efforts of local CDCs and other community-based organizations to build the capacity and reach of the community economic development industry.
